The default is to throttle the frame rate to 30 fps. This reduces the program's demands on the CPU. If you have set the frames per second setting above that and CPU temperature is a concern, then you should try returning the fps setting to 30 fps. Another way to reduce the load is to decrease your monitor bit depth. Other than that, it takes a lot of horsepower (mostly from the video card) to animate and texture.
