Smooth transition for crystal

I think it would look nicer if when the crystal changes it's display (from logo to clock for example) to have a smooth blended transition instead of the abrupt change like it does now.

If you get bored you could make what the crystal displays a plugin and people could do whatever wild and wonderful things they want :)
