I have a shiny new iMac 20", which has a widescreen display running at 1680x1050. Based on the FAQ at:

...and in reviewing the system requirements...
...and in reviewing the system requirements listed, my laptop passes with flying colors. It's not the best or the fastest video chipset there is, but again, unless GA (with one fish in test mode!)...
