Happy ending. Running dxdiag showed things were very wrong with DirectDraw. After DirectX re-installed, Aquarium's running nicely again.

On System Information, for the Display Adapter, twice it says IRQ 9 mask x FFFF mask & once it says IRQ 0 mask x FFFF
For mouse, it twice says IRQ 12 mask x 0000 & once it says IRQ 0 mask x 1000....

Also just found vSync & turned it off, & my monitor's refresh rate is set to what it was before - Optimal

The nimda virus thread/patches thread broght this to mind. If you run Win 2000 or Win NT w/station, MS will run a security scan on yr system & advise what sec. patches you need. With Win98 you're out...

Hope this right place to post this. Aquarium looks great,haven't tried 99J, going to shortly.Get 60fps,wondering how I'll go when all this 3D&DirectX comes in,willing to spend a bit to improvethings....
