Two simple features which would make me purchase
1. Advanced registry option for enabling triple buffering (same as for enabling vsync). This ensures smoothest frame rate and is simple to implement (set backbuffercount to 2).
2. In-screensaver AA controls (ie. 2x, 4x etc). Because it's a *.scr and not a *.exe, profiles don't work with these screensavers. So they need internal AA dialogs. |
You can rename it Goldfish.exe.

A "solution" that would render it unusable as a screensaver...
Honestly, is there some reason why adding AA support to all these screensaver isn't a VERY good idea? (Hint: No). |

Aquariums Anonymous. The first step is recognizing there is a Higher Resolution.

I tried this too, a while ago. You can certainly add it, but it doesn't actually work unless it's exe.
Face it, we need AA in the aquarium controls (and triple buffering in the registry). |
Please... :) My credit card is waiting.

Okay I took the plunge and bought both sharks and goldfish 2.
But I still really, really, really want FSAA controls build in... and I hope I don't have to pay again for upgrade to version 3 or whatever... :| Oh yeah, we need FSAA and triple buffering in all the screensavers. Triple buffering means smoothest framerates and lowest CPU usage (without using limit frames). With vsync off, it will render as many frames as it can, so if you can manage 150 fps it will render that many. That's a waste of CPU and GPU power. With Vsync on, it's spending a lot of time waiting for vsync. With vsync on and triple buffer it's only rendering maximum frames of your refresh rate and running and smooth as possible. All you need to do is change backbuffercount from 1 to 2 in the code. Simple! |
