You'd be surprised! :erm:

Jim Sachs 06-28-2011 02:43 AM

Hey, I wasn't even going to replace the gall bladder - just take it out and throw it away. :)

Wizwad 06-28-2011 06:38 AM

And you were going to use your man-lifter, your spanner set and your hammer for that, were you? :D

Jim Sachs 06-28-2011 10:35 AM

I also have a big set of Xacto knives, which should work nicely. Don't worry, I'd hose them off before use.

ESHIREY 06-28-2011 11:26 AM

hahahahaha Now your talking. Well at least I know where to go if I ever need mine out. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies...racter0264.gif

patscarr 06-28-2011 02:23 PM

Nicole, I'd love to read your book when it's done too! You know, Marian has written a couple books. Perhaps she can give you some advice.

FishLover123 04-09-2014 08:20 PM

I would like to see tank options for African Lake Cichlids and also for Discus.

Cyndy Rinehart 04-20-2014 08:00 PM

I'd love a Malawi Cichlid aquarium-all the colors of Marine style

The Malawi cichlid or chichlids have the most colorations for freshwater fish. I miss my 75gal tank so much - but then again I also miss my 45 and 29gal tanks of "Chicklets" as my daughter used to call them. They are a hardy fish too. Oh well, whatever it ends up being it'll be awesome! Hello to everyone!

Jim Sachs 04-20-2014 08:07 PM

Those are freshwater fish. I had origianlly planned to add a freshwater tank, and might still some day.

Cyndy Rinehart 04-20-2014 08:09 PM

Yes a blue-eyed pleco, please!

Yellow Tang 04-28-2014 07:46 AM

It is really sad that this project was never finished, we saw screen shots yaers ago, and it did look fantastic... Morgan had a chance to see it live, the bubble chest must be amazing.
Time flies - as long as the universe is still expanding ;-)

Nicki 04-28-2014 09:52 PM

If only it were possible to see what already exists of this project...

I would love for this to get developed as there really are not that many freshwater aquarium simulations out there that are more than just a curiosity. I can't think of any other than Dream Aquarium that I would recommend to a friend. Aquazone Open water has a nice Amazon River add on but it's quite expensive on top of the main program and not an aquarium.

Hi Jim:

In case you're anything like me, getting started is the hardest part of any project. I know. However, once I push myself to start a project and I develop a certain amount of momentum, then I can't stop until I finish it. I know you have a lot on your plate, but you would feel good about fulfilling your goal, and you would put many smiles on the faces of all those who see a real fresh water aquarium by you, the 'Master' of aquariums.

Sincerely,

Jim Sachs 10-11-2016 12:27 AM

As many of you know, for the past 3 1/2 years I've had custody of my Alzheimer's mother, and have not been able to concentrate on much else. She's been declining steadily, and I don't expect her to last much longer.

cjmaddy 10-11-2016 04:51 AM

Our thoughts are with you, Jim.

.... And our many thanks for all you have done for SereneScreen Aquarium over the past years!

Ralph 10-11-2016 06:29 AM

At times like this there is not much one can say.. except as Cliff said above, Our thoughts are with you.

ESHIREY 10-11-2016 01:27 PM

I agree with the above. I am sorry. Our prayers go out to you and your family.

jleslie 10-13-2016 10:08 AM

Having looked after my Mother while she was terminally ill (although luckily not with any form of dementia, well except very briefly, and very scarily, due to an infection that could be cured) you have my greatest sympathy...

Surferminn 10-18-2016 08:11 AM

What Cliff said. When my dad passed, it was just time. My mom at 97 is also declining. Wishing you peace and ease and comfort through this time.

patscarr 10-18-2016 02:13 PM

Very sorry for you and the fam.

Captain T 08-05-2017 12:51 PM

Jim says he's not doing the Freshwater Aquarium. He's still planning on creature packs though.

carju 10-27-2017 12:07 PM

what does that mean he is not doing the Freshwater Aquarium?
Guys do you think it will be created one day?

ESHIREY 10-27-2017 01:06 PM

From what he said in the past he was not going to be doing it. Sorry. I'm still hoping for the creature pack.

I think what would be a good incentive , that he would charge so much for each one. Guessing the octopus would be the most.

Jim Sachs 10-27-2017 06:17 PM

Nice avatar, carju!

Frankly.. Unfortunately.. No. There is not enough demand for PC style screen savers to warrant much development.

The only place where there, may.. be some development is for the plethora of gadgets.. smart phones.. tablets.. smart TV... but then mostly to capture the eye of the purchaser as an advertisement. In my opinion..

carju 02-05-2018 06:29 PM

15 years and even more I have been dreaming of it and waiting for it... still hahing my marine aquarium as a screen saver... so sad...

Thank you!! 👌🙏

RHess 12-09-2020 08:00 PM

If this project is still onboard, what I'd like to see is a large, realistic, heavily-planted and aquascaped tank - like a Leiden or Amano aquarium. Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, Discus, schooling Cardinal Tetras, other tetra species, Pencilfish, Black-Lace Veil-Tail Angels, Betta, Corydoras species, small algae eaters, Banjo-fish, Red-Tailed Sharks, Moonlight gourmais and Rasbora... are all good possibilities.

Ralph 12-11-2020 11:21 AM

Given the last post in this thread was well over 2 years ago.. don't be holding your breath. Technology.. Age and Castles have moved forward.. Screen saver development, not so much.

Jim Sachs 12-12-2020 12:41 AM

I had planned all of those things for the Freshwater Tank, but nobody buys screensavers any more.

igohigh 02-26-2021 06:45 PM

But Jim, SereneScreen is not a "screensaver", SereneScreen is Art In Motion!
It is a fish tank requiring no maintenance and no feeding.
It is Therapy after a long day's work (and unruly customers)

SereneScreen is the BOSS.

Jim Sachs 02-26-2021 11:08 PM

Thanks, Igohigh :)

ESHIREY 02-27-2021 03:05 PM

I agree 100%.
