Zebra Moray Eel hiding in cave
 

Naturally I have added the Eel.:TU:

I think I have only seen him come out 2-3 times, most times his head comes out from the RH side of the cave and that is all.

My Auto Pan setting is very low on the 3rd mark from the left.

The Eel is not on the Fish Settings, should he be there?

How often does he come out so that he can be seen?

The eel is not in the fish settings - just consider him part of the background. The timing for him to come out is random.

seems to come out all the time for me I just put it on wireframe mode and it pops out straight after. I had it on widescreen (windowed) to stop having to see if it was there, then I started wondering if it actually was the eel version of MA3 ;)

So I pressed W and out it popped.

The eel timing is random - it doesn't know whether the program is in wireframe mode or not.

I'm having a problem in w7. I cant get version V602...(Harvey) to run in screen saver. W7 keeps seeing the older version. I've tried to isolate the older version but W7 is still seeing it. How do I get Harvey to run in W7 default screen saver???

I think my Eel thinks random means just show your head.

The only time I have seen his body was as soon as I downloaded him

Keith.. are you sure you are waiting for the eel in the right version? Your system may be starting another version and thus you wait in vain. Use the "S" key to determine which version is playing.. mine reads beta 12b but I am not if this is the installer version or from the link Jim posted.

The installer version with the eel (Marine Aquarium 3.2) is the official version at SereneScreen.com.

Installing it should replace any previous version.

Just a picky point.. but "all" the reference are to version 3.1 at the SereneScreen.com website. No reference to Harvey at all. The download link, contrary to what it says does download version 3.2:D. The website one gets by clicking on the SereneScreen logo at the top of our forum is even more out of date referencing only version 3.0:sad:.

Yes, it would be nice if all that were up to date.

That was a very nice surprise! I hadn't downloaded and installed the screen saver in a few months. I rotate between SS and DA. Are there any other nice little surprises in the pipeline that maybe you can give a hint on?

I just randomly came here to see if anything new was happening and found a nice surprise.
The Eel is just great. It's got lovely smooth movement.

I love that little fella he seems to have a cheeky grin about him.

It's hard to believe it's been over 9 years now that I've been watching your creation grow from an amazing 2D screen saver to an even more amazing 3D one :) And it has always remained my screensaver throughout.

Years ago I had the Marine Aquarium Screensaver. I love it and was really excited to see the new developements. I have one problem...which at the moment ist stopping me from purchasing it...I really have a problem with Eels. From this thread I can see it's not optional. Could it be optional in future? If not, can I buy a version just before the Eel was added? Which one would that be? Thank you.

You can download Marine Aquarium 3.1 which doesn't have an eel.

Thank you for the help feldon34. I was able to purchase a version 3.1 from the german retailers because they aren't quite up to date yet. In a previous telephone call the woman on the help desk was practically falling off her chair laughing as I asked her if there was an eel in the aquarium. But she couldn't say for sure...only that it was version 3.1. So thanks for the great help.

For future reference: Any Marine Aquarium 3.x keycode will work on Marine Aquarium 3.0, 3.1, or 3.2.

Black/White Striped Eel?
 

Well I knew if I waited long enough that there would be an eel added. I asked for one back when I purchased 2.0. I started with the free one included with Plus for Windows and I've purchased everyone since. Finally a screen saver with function and form. This is saying a lot when a screen saver no longer needs to "save" your screen.

Worth the wait too. They are very fascinating to watch. I've always liked the Black/White striped eels myself; but, this one is a very nice eel indeed! I'm not sure what the striped one is called, a Moray as well? Just seen them in many aquariums and liked them. This one will do nicely.
