Leopards do, but I don't think it will fit. :)

klyntun 08-26-2003 09:52 AM

One might fit (it's a 200 gallon tank), but I doubt it could swim around much.

Panthera 08-26-2003 11:57 AM

Tigers love to swim and they look cool :)

klyntun 08-26-2003 12:48 PM

Tigers ARE cool. There is a white tiger that makes a breif appearance in "The League of Extrodinary Gentleman." What a beautiful creature.

ESHIREY 08-26-2003 01:07 PM

I agree , The tigers are my favorite . But I'm confused , I don't know which is more beautiful , The tiger or Panthera ...

hehehe . I know , must be my meds .

Panthera 08-26-2003 01:52 PM

Heheheh awwww.. I'm blushing a bright "orange" hehe :)

I posted some comments in the general forum under I have an idea before seeing this forum. I think a sea urchin would not be difficult (very slow moving) and would add some visual interest. I can't wait for the shrimp too! (Hope we can have a sea horse too!)

feldon34 09-03-2003 07:56 PM

If it has to move at all, it's a nightmare. Each fish is 186 vertices. Each spine on a sea urchin is, at least 9 vertices, times 75.

fish sizes

I am no expert in marine biology, so the fish all look pretty life-like to me. I only think the lionfish seems small in comparison to the others; (maybe it's a juvenile lionfish?) but from what I remember of ever seeing them in real aquariums, I seem to remember that they were significantly larger than the tangs and surgeon fishes...

Jim Sachs 09-05-2003 03:02 PM

All the fish are juveniles. Aside from it's size, you can tell that the lionfish is a juvenile by the lack of tendrils hanging from around the mouth area.

Morgan's right - anything with spines is a nightmare in 3D. It's one of the main reason's there's no puffer fish yet. The change in shape and size as it blows up is relatively trivial (though very effective visually), but I still haven't figured out how to do those spikes economically.

Do you ever go to the wishlist page and go back and fourth on what new fish and creatures you will add to the aquarium? There is just alot to chose from.

FEEDER GUPPIES!

There's nothing cooler than a seahorse sucking in a guppy with the "smoke" puffing out the top of its head. Also a great way to show off the hunting behavior of the lionfish.

Press "g" to drop a guppie!

I think you are confusing SereneScene.com with HideousViolentDeathScene.com. :)

Panthera 09-06-2003 12:45 AM

Hehe that's funny.

BTW, has the name changed from SereneScreen to SereneScene?? I noticed both site names work. I must've missed this ... was there a post that announced this change?

Jim Sachs 09-06-2003 12:08 PM

Yes.

Hmmmm, the name of this forums banner still reads SereneScreen:confused:
Did anyone tell Morgan:D

Jim Sachs 09-06-2003 05:57 PM

It's a gradual changeover. There's no hurry. Could take years.

Moving this post to the wishlist thread, it should be posted there.

Seafoam 09-13-2003 11:05 AM

thanks

Thanks Jav400, you told me that in the other thread too; I'm glad you moved it 'cause it saved me the trouble. :-)

BTW, if you wanna see real fish like these, visit the closest Rainforest Cafe to you. ~_^ Beautiful fish galore.
