Marine Aquarium and Open GL?
Hi,
are there any plans to bring Marine Aquarium to Open GL some day? It is fine that you also offer a version for MAC. But an Open GL verion for Linux would be great! |
What did Jim say before? Something like "Linux users don't like to pay for software?"

There's no reason to put any effort into translating the PC version of the program into OpenGL. Every card that supports OpenGL also supports Direct3D.

I donīt think so...
Hi & thanks for the quick replies :-)
Iīm sorry you think that way about linux users. But if your experiences with linux users were that bad I certainly understand why you think so. I myself know a several linux users and I have to say that only very few of them are "brilliant" and that they happily spend their money for games, screensaver and other cool programs as they did not have to spend this money for the operating system ;-) Their reason for using linux is that it is an (actually still) fairly virus-secure system. Linux no longer is something for specialists only. Even a quite unexperienced user is able to install and use it. The frontends look more and more like windows. Also programs for linux are no longer only freeware. Certainly, there is a wide range of freeware but more and more there is shareware and also programs with prices similar to that on windows systems. However, your screensaver is really worth its price and I am sure every linux user who likes perfect 3D screensavers would certainly buy it! - Especially as there are only very few good 3D screen savers. I hope you will meet that kind of linux users, too, some day. |
