Busy I guess. When I'm not staring at GA, I'm trying to finish my MD/PhD. I used to write software though, and have a very great appreciation for Mr. Sachs' ability to work in the confines of M$'s dlls.

Just curious.... how hard would it be to re-crop the mask for the surface light patterns? In some areas, the mask doesn't seem to match up with the outline of the rocks and gravel. Could tracing a layer out in something like photoshop help here?

wishlist

Here are some of my favorite fishes

#1 Kuhli Loaches (Fun to watch, esp. when you have 3-4 or more in the tank)
#2 Angelfish (Several different kinds)
#3 Golden Severum
#4 Gouramis!!! (Pearl, Dwarf, Kissing)
#5 Rainbow Fish!!
#6 Congo Tetra (beautiful irridescent scales) and Neon Tetras

Other creatures
#1 Snails
#2 Crabs/Crayfish

Interesting Stuff
#1 Feed the fish!!!
#2 Let us watch our fish grow bigger. This is esp.
interesting for fish like Oscars and Golden Severums
and Plecos, etc. which can live a long time.
User could select how fast time passes and how big they start off.
#3 Let user decorate the tank with plants and rocks.
#4 User selectable Gravel/Pebbles/ColoredGlass/etc.
#5 Let the fish dig up the gravel (Khuli Loaches / Cichlids !!)
#6 Treasure Chests / Other decorations (Optionable)
#7 Male/Female fish. Different Bahaviors. Fish Sex!! Fish Eggs!

Other
#1 Need to allow more than 7 fish in freshwater tank, esp. if you allow smaller fish like Neon Tetras.

GreenHsif, I like that first fish cept he has such a stupid look about him, reminds me of that guy on Popeye who was always after a hamburger. :) The river stingray is pretty cool.

GreenHsiF 09-30-2003 05:09 PM

Thanks grape jellyfish.

klyntun 09-30-2003 06:03 PM

The river stingray gets my vote. At first I thought it was one of the rare pancake plecostomus, but I guess they truly are extinct.

The Siamese Fighting Fish is allways been my favourite.
It will be very nice to see some male with different colours in the freshwater aquarium. I think that this fish can be compared with the lionfish from MA I mean it will be hard to implement from the viewpoint of moving and colour changing.

Aquarium Options

I hope that Jim takes into consideration that some people may find the treasure chest, diver, etc.etc. a bit tacky. What I mean is someone such as myself try and set up an aquarium to look as natural as they can. I also understand how people like putting toys in there for there fish. So I was just suggesting that maybe things of that nature can be an option that the user can select from a list to put in the tank to suit there needs.

Tiny Turtle 10-21-2003 05:52 AM

Robs-GTR,
The chest will be optional.

/Tiny Treasure

Thank you for the quick response, It's appreciated.

My guess would be the Arrowana . That's if he is still on the wish list . Because they do get big . They get bigger then an Oscar .

But if not and they do put an Oscar in the tank , then it would be him . Trust me , I had them all . ;) :TU:

cjmaddy 10-21-2003 05:30 PM

My guess would be the Red Tailed Black Shark! ..... :)

He is cool . I had one just like that .

Tiny Turtle 10-22-2003 12:53 AM

I believe the Arrowana didn't get a thumbs up (maybe a single thumb-slightly-to-the-side?) when we had the "I wanna Arrowana" discussion.

/Tiny Mouth on those things

Jim Sachs 10-22-2003 09:46 AM

The Arrowana is too big. Discus fish will probably be the biggest.

I know they are big but wasn't sure if you were putting him in . Now we know . The discus was my favorite . At one time I had a 55 gal with just them in .

Besides they are known as the king of the fresh water tank .:TU:

sunny 10-23-2003 01:30 AM

last 10 years back,i had an arrowana as pet. when i first bought it , just a juvenile about 100mm in length.
in my opinion, jim always put a juvenile in s/saver, can't we just have it in?

GreenHsiF 10-25-2003 05:37 PM

Will there be any fish that will swim in a school like the 3-d aquarium will have,if so which fish will?

Yes I think there will be, the Flame Gourami looks really good, so colorfull :)

Wizwad 10-26-2003 06:05 AM

I sort of like the Red Jewel Cichlid, but my favourite of this last batch is the Neolamprologus Pulcher - it's something a bit different and I think it would work really well in the aquarium. It's obviously not an albino fish, but the pale beige/cream colour is wonderful, especially with those yellow hints and the pale blue eyes. Superb! :TU:
