MAT2 and MAT2-MD use different installation folders but the same Registry branch.

If you install MAT2-MD and then MAT2, your logos must go in
C:\Program Files\SereneScreen\Marine Aquarium Time 2\

If you install MAT2 and then MAT2-MD, your logos must go in
C:\Program Files\SereneScreen\Marine Aquarium Time 2 MD\

It's whichever program wrote to the registry last. Also to add frustration, each installer wipes the relevant Registry branch including keycode and other settings.

So even though they set these 2 versions up to use 2 different folders, it is not obvious how to make them coexist peacefully.

I guess I need to update my instructions and Logo Packs to deal with this situation. Basically, I will say that you cannot use both versions on the same machine at the same time.

Since the Freshwater Aquarium might some day also have a crystal, I think that a pre-emptive step would have been to use

C:\Program Files\SereneScreen\Shared Logos\

across the board.

Message for you Morgan .
refer my rather lengthy posts last 2 days regarding MAT vs 2 .
I found I had in fact saved every version of these fish programs updates onto a CD Rom and included a notepad with the missing key that I thought I had misplaced.
So MAT vs 2 is up and running properly now . many Thanks to you all . The screen saver lookes better than ever.

I am working on the Logo and looking at your feedbacks re problems others have found. I am halfway there and will post a query in that thread. Where could I find your original instructions?
I use Paint Shop Pro.
Thanks again

My logos and logo creation guide are available from here:
https://www.feldoncentral.com/Sachs/malogo/

Alas I have no instructions for Paint Shop Pro at this time. I don't use it, so someone else will have to write it.

Morgan, after sending last message just now , this one came in on top.
Many Thanks , will look at it after some sleep. 3.30am here now

I wish a setting would be added to be able to choose one favorite clock to cycle with the logo, as opposed to all of them without choice; maybe have separate tick boxes for every clock to be either included or excluded in the cycle.

feldon34 06-22-2004 08:43 AM

That would be nice, and I asked them about it. Maybe in a future version.

Jeremy 06-23-2004 02:41 AM

"In a future version" sounds good, but "maybe" doesn't sound good at all:
It was a bad administrative and artistic decision to force someone to have to see a mish-mosh of different style cycling clocks in order to be able to see the logo, or to have to see the logo without a clock at all. Let everyone decide for themselves. I'm sure in the previous version the different style clocks were used to offer a choice, no? Why take that choice away now?

cjmaddy 09-21-2004 02:30 PM

The clock does not seem to be as well centred on the crystal in Time 2 MD, as it was in the original MA Logo,
........ unless there's something I don't know! :)

Does anyone else agree with this?

cjmaddy 10-12-2004 10:25 AM

Apparently not! :(

Never mind, - I'll continue to use the old one then, - the calendar is also better positioned on MA Logo. - IMO! ;)

I agreed, I just forgot to reply... I remember intending to, and I thought I had, but anyway, I'm doing it now. Yes, it does look off centered.

Same here buddy. I see the difference.

Ken Denning 11-04-2004 04:42 PM

I purchased Marine Aquarium time 2. It worked for a little while.... then I have a black screen.... I have re-installed several times but still comes up with the black screen.... Sound works. Any suggestions?

Ken Denning 11-04-2004 05:22 PM

It works!! Kind of...... Seems, after the screensaver time kicks in it turns on and everything is fine. If I launch from the main program or from a shortcut, It launches and gives me a black screen instead of the aquarium.... maybe a bug?

cjmaddy 11-04-2004 06:08 PM

Have you checked that 'Black' is not ticked in the 'Settings' panel? .... Just a thought!

Jav400 11-04-2004 06:13 PM

Ken,

Most problems are attributed to video drivers or some form of DirectX. Its kind of hard to help you out without more information. Can you tell us about your system? Cpu, Video card, Windows version, driver version for your video card and so on...........

Ken Denning 11-04-2004 06:32 PM

Yes.....

It's A Dell laptop 2600 with 1G Processor. Intel 82830M Graphics Controller. Driver ver. 4.13.01.3013. After letting the system sit for the 5 minute mark, I can now launch the main program and it will show on the screen correctly......Maybe t was something I did wrong at install......Thanks Ken

You could also be overheating. This screensaver is taxing, and generally has a had time running on laptops. After running a certain amount of time it may be causing heat problems.

The control button causes the screen saver to stop! The page up/down work well. What other keys will cause the move?

feldon34 01-26-2006 11:37 AM

You may need to turn off Exit on Mouse Move to use the Ctrl and other keys.

Ctrl and arrow keys (and Page Up and Page Down) only work with black and white BMP logos that you import using Import, which don't look as good as PNG logos.
