Our lead has three on his desk. We are "very" close.

TennesseeTurtle 10-30-2003 05:41 AM

I would plan on it. Reichart says mult mon support is gonna be availablef for GA. didn't know release date :(
I had an extra monitor, so I put in another vid card, hooked it up, downloaded ultramon and voila. My computing hasn't been the same. Twice the desktop. Especially ifyour on broadband and have online apps runnning a lot. lemee know if I can help

Reichart,
I have a 21" and a 17" dual setup, how will the aquarium handle that? If a fish swims off the 21" screen and onto the 17" will it scale down to the smaller size, or will the 17" screen crop off part of the aqarium so the fish will stay the same size? Also, when a fish swims off one screen and onto another, will it happen all at once where it has to be completely off one screen before it starts to appear on the other or will you see the nose of the fish as soon as it starts swimming off the side?

HaHaHa!
And what will happen if there is 20 gallon aquarium next to the monitor? Will the fish swim right into the water? :D

Tiny Turtle 10-30-2003 11:03 AM

Doc,
It will most likely scale down...

drfish 10-30-2003 11:21 AM

That's what I'm guessing too, I'm sure it's much eaiser that way.

ESHIREY 10-30-2003 12:25 PM

Yes it will . I used to have 3 monitors hooked up . A 21" , a 17" and a 15" . But now I just have 2 - 21" Nokia's . If my desk was a little bigger I'd have 3 of them .

This will be great . By all means if you can add at-least a second monitor you won't be sorry . Having a bigger desktop alone is worth it . I've had multi monitors for the last 5 years and I won't ever go back to just one . ;)

Tiny Turtle 10-30-2003 12:39 PM

W,
What vid card are you uing that could accomodate three monitors? A Matrox Parhelia or perhaps one of them Colorgraphic cards?

At that time I had 1- agp card and 2- pci cards . The pci cards were Matrox millennium cards And I was using win98 . I think with 98 you can setup 6 or 8 monitors .

TennesseeTurtle 10-31-2003 05:57 AM

Wshirey, your right about not goin back to just one. I bought a 17" Flatpanel Samsung. My kids already had my old 17" CRt, so I had an extra 19" CRT. Got an extra vid card, set it up on top of the desk and it is great. Run IM/weather/mail on one, just glance up at it and keep the active browswer, pgs your workin on infront of ya. Really makes it easier.
Do you use Ultramon?

ESHIREY 10-31-2003 06:21 AM

I did when I was using all 3 . But right now I'm not . I'm using a GeForce 4 ti 4200 . :)

feldon34 03-02-2004 08:51 PM

henning,

Those will require reflective/refractive lighting on the fish, which Goldfish Aquarium doesn't handle yet.

I'm anxiously looking forward. :)

Tiny Turtle 03-03-2004 01:45 AM

Heck, they all need that... (well maybe not "Morgan" ;) )

cjmaddy 03-03-2004 09:34 AM

You're not suggesting that we should keep Morgan in the dark are you? ;);) ..... Shame on you! :D

Tiny Turtle 03-03-2004 01:19 PM

:)

The Morgan fish probably could have a bit more metallic scales as well...

sunny 03-03-2004 07:34 PM

in my opinion , in real life , not all goldfish has metallic scales..

Reichart 03-04-2004 11:04 AM

The tasty ones don't.
I find the metal scales get caught in my teeth anyway.
