Purchased MA3 - Wait Until Final To Update?
I have purchased MA3 beta a while back when it first became available on the retail website.
Is it best to wait until the final version before updating it? I see various beta versions being released in quick succession which I find rather confusing. I'm assuming the key they gave me will still apply. |
There is never going to be a "Final" version of MA3.
Jim is going to be making changes/additions probably until they lower him into a hole. If you have already purchased MA3, then you already have it. It's your choice if you want to run Jim's BetaBeta versions as they come out, or wait until a version gets updated on serenescreen and get it then. Jim's frequent versions have a "die" date. Usually somewhere around 30 days after Jim releases them. Then they will cease to work, and will need to be replaced with another BetaBeta version, or the serenescreen version until Jim comes out with something new. The versions from serenescreen will not expire. Which one you choose to use, is up to you. |
I'll stick with SereneScreen.com then. No offense to Jim meant of course but if it was only one system it would be fine constantly downloading/uninstalling/reinstalling or whatever. but I have four systems.....gets a little tedious after a while...LOL.
Thanks very much. |
I'm sure Jim doesn't take offense Peter. I can see your point.
From Jim's point of view, as he comes out with new items he needs to have them tested on a range of systems to try and find any problems before it goes to serenescreen as the version released there. That's what we do and help with here. :) |
Point taken and thanks. :)

I guess I could devote one of them to test versions.

What I do is install the latest installer version, so I'll always have a non-expiring one, and just dump (extract from the zip) the file for the latest beta onto my desktop. I also add a link to the installer version to my desktop. They co-exist happily (I can run either one).

Actually that's what I'm doing on one of my rigs.
