weird bug
 

I have the latest beta 8b installed and when i run it directly no problems but....when i set it as screen saver in ultramon then it starts quite happily with fish and all but quits within a minute with the error "cannot find any compatable direct3d devices"

I'm using Win XP SP3, latest beta of ultramon 3.04 - 2 monitors with different resolutions, graphic card ATI X1900
directx 9c installed


Any sugestions ?

PS same error also still happens in beta 8e

Is it practical for you to (temporarily) start your system without ultramon, and then let MA3 run? That would help determine whether the problem is a conflict between those two programs.

yeah i will and let you know.

as i say its quite weird....screensaver kicks in - gives me the failure notice, and goes back to desktop.
Then 5 minutes later screensaver kicks in and runs fine.

Please reinstall first using the newest version and then let us know what happens.

And make sure you erase the previous Registry entries. It might be attempting to use some values that are no longer legal.
