Maybe I can find an example with less-pronounced markings, so that the face is more recognizable. I'm just afraid that with it hiding in the cave, people will just see a bunch of dots and stripes and not know what it's supposed to be.

The standard green is what's in Divevisions, I like all of the ones pictured. When I had my Salt Water tank years ago we had a Blue Ribbon eel. He was sooooooooooooo cool. Everyone that came over really liked him. So I vote for him. But like I said, I like them all.

Also, you can put me down for a buck too. ;)

As much as I would like to see additions to MA3.. This would be a good time to start the creature pack series. Adding another fish will not on its own sell a single copy. IMHO
|
Ralph - the difference is days compared to years. The fish packs would mean completely re-doing all the existing fish with new models, and creating all-new behavior algorithms. All that before I could even start on the fish packs. On the other hand, it snowed here last night, so I'm stuck inside working on the computer for a couple of days. If I don't have to get into the menu system, I might be able to get a Moray eel living in the cave in the next couple of days. Having something in the cave would give the program a sense of completeness.
|
If we could inject a little more life into the Starfish, it would be even more complete.... ;)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow :D.

Then I echo Cliff and Nicki's comments. :D
|
Me too.

The Zebra Moray might work after all. Some of them have fewer markings on the face, which makes them a little easier to recognize as an eel. This one, for example:

There you go. Good luck with it buddy.

I have only one comment then:
A Snoopy Dance !!! |
An interesting U-TUBE video on that page Jim... reminds me of freshwater crabbing in Cuba. Not sure what those guys / girls are up to in the mud

The model and texture are done, now I just have to graft it into the program, and figure out the animation.
|
I feel a Snoopy dance coming on!!! :)
Is he supposed to just kind of peak out of the cave or will he come out a few inches like in the video I posted. |
I feel the dance coming too. And I haven't been able too for the last 16 years. This is great news, I can't wait.
|
My plan is for him to lurk near the back of the cave until a fish swims by, then start to come out as if he were going after the fish. This is the opposite behavior from the clams and Feather Duster, which retreat when a fish comes near. The mouth and gills will also work.
|
Wow, that was fast, and color too? A maroon color eel with white stripes? Are you planning to have him/her come completely out of the cave and round about the aquarium or just in and out of the cave? I was thinking it would be nice to have the eel come out and go right up to the window and then turn around and back in the cave. Lol ... how many folks do you think will position their camera right at the cave and sit and wait for it to make it's appearance? edit, oops, too slow, you already answered the question.
|
No, the eel will stay in the cave, just poking out a little way. Only the front 1/3 of it exists. Remember, it's part of the background, not a "choosable" fish.
