uh...I don't see any difference from 9a, Jim. Am I missing something?

edit: oops, just saw CMJAddy's post. didn't try that.

Jim Sachs 02-10-2009 04:12 PM

The differences are minor, but several had accumulated, so I uploaded it.

The main thing is to test the digital clock. If it's stable, then I'll replace the official download with this one.

Xylem 02-10-2009 04:21 PM

Yes, works fine now, even on Vista 64 :)

Does "official download" mean the MA3 8k version? That would be great.

Jim Sachs 02-10-2009 04:29 PM

8k will be replaced by 9b.

ESHIREY 02-10-2009 08:29 PM

I should have posted yesterday, everything is working just fine here. I love what you did with the clock. I can't wait to see the clams.

troyb 02-11-2009 06:36 AM

I can't find the 9b download page

cjmaddy 02-11-2009 08:06 AM

It's listed in post #397 .... just 9 posts back! .... https://www.feldoncentral.com/forums...96&#post110796

Which is nice if you're using a download manager, such as FlashGet. I just have it check for an update every few days, and it can detect and download if there's a new version.

Jim Sachs 02-12-2009 11:30 AM

Good idea.

Jim Sachs 02-21-2009 05:42 PM

I just put up Beta9c: http://www.fish-byte.com/MA3Beta.zip

This version has no wrapper, and will expire in 14 days.

This version has an expanded music playlist interface. You can now click on arrows to move the songs up or down the chart to arrange them in any order you wish. There's also a Play button, so you can preview the current selection.

This version also introduces a Logo playlist and interface, which is very similar to the music interface. You can add images from anywhere on your computer -- they do not have to be in any particular directory. PNG, BMP, and JPG files are supported. Try to use pictures that are as square and as close to 256x256 as possible, otherwise they may look stretched. JPEGs take longer to load and process, so they may cause a glitch each time they are displayed. Setting the play time for each logo should be pretty obvious. Clocks and calendars can be mixed in anywhere on the list.

There are Random Play buttons on both these interfaces, but only the one on the Logo interface is hooked up. I had a last-minute glitch in the random music button, so I pulled it back into the shop for repairs.

The L key switches immediately to the next logo (hold down the key for rapid animation). The C key switches to a clock, which plays for the remainder of the time alloted to the previous logo. The N key switches to the next song (no longer F8).

The crystal has a large black hole in it - nothing shows up, including when pressing "C".

I downloaded, extracted, and moved it to \windows\system32\. Nothing else done.

WXP Pro. 9b worked fine, this shows as 9c.

cjmaddy 02-21-2009 06:09 PM

Whoops!

timelord 02-21-2009 06:23 PM

Hello everyone,

I just downloaded that new beta file and I also see the Crystal with a black hole. I think Jim is going to suck all the fish in with that black hole. The gravity is tremendous. All kidding aside, if you just download the zip and use winzip to open the file but do not extract it. Just open in winzip and test first. I think maybe Jim scared the life out of some of you guys.

That file was only up for about 20 seconds. You guys are just too quick for me! Try it again.

OK, no black hole.

However, the C key does nothing at all. I would expect it to do something by default, even if I had not gone to "settings".

Perhaps understandably, the L key does nothing at all, either.

timelord 02-21-2009 06:41 PM

Jim,

the file with the black hole actually worked when you went to the interface and selected a clock or Logo. Very cool that it defaulted to the black hole.
Thanks

Works

C & L as well as alternate graphics work as advertised for me.

timelord 02-21-2009 06:58 PM

Jim,

will all of the installers install to the windows/system32 from now on? I just had something weird happen on my vista 64 system. I extracted that last beta to windows/system32 and it placed the file in windows/SysWOW64 directory. Very odd indeed.

Did they work before you went to Setup?
