Screen shots don't capture motion and 3D

Friends of mine have been to Africa and taken pictures. They say the pictures don't show 1/10 of the grandeur of the place. I detect a pattern. So I am going to wait for the 3D version before judging any of Jim's new fishes. - john |
I would also say that I like the Volitans better. That's why I did it first.

Let em loose now Jim

They've been turned in to Prolific, now Will Ware just has to integrate them into his code (list them in the User Interface, put in habitat location, diet, length, etc.). This should be fairly quick because no changes are needed to the movement code for either of these fish - the Achilles Tang is just like all the other Tangs, and the Clearfin Lionfish moves just like the old Lionfish.
One item that will need some testing is the fact that the new Lionfish has a 256x256 texture, bigger than any other fish. Older video cards which were marginal before may be pushed over the edge when trying to allocate the extra Video Ram. |
very good news...
Achiles Tang, Clearfin Lionfish, and the third one? |
What third one?
|
Go for it Will, as usual, we can't wait anymore...
Nice update Jim! :TU: |
Oh, really nice update, thanks.

That is good news. http://fool.exler.ru/sm/shrk.gif

Edgar just posted a working prototype on the internal Prolific server. Everything looks normal, so it shouldn't be long before this version is ready for market.

That just made my night. I'm going to bed now and just thought I would check in. Thanks for the info buddy. :TU:

I just wanted to let it be known that after this update is released, the first person who asks when the next update is gonna be will be put on my "ignore list" and considered really stupid and ignorant.
Thanks Jim – I know they will be great. /Tiny X-mas Gift |

Tiny Snapshots is one wide web page. Good thing I have dual monitors so I can take it all in at once! My compliments to you!

While you're waiting I thought this was an okay effect (relaxing, which I could do with right now):
http://219.138.243.158/Article/ShowA...?ArticleID=402 Here it is on its own: http://219.138.243.158/images/fish.swf Needs flash (somewhat unsurprisingly, being a swf ;-) John |

Another approach to the digital aquarium (as seen at the London Aquarium):
http://cswww.essex.ac.uk/staff/hhu/v...wim2005Aug.avi 12.7MB Fully autonomous, designed and made by a team led by Professor Huosheng Hu of the University of Essex. "They move forward and if they find an obstacle, they turn. They have several behaviours depending on the situation." They have infra-red and pressure sensors. The tail has three joints. |
No Problem
