With real omelettes in our stomachs, we set out on the river again. There weren't too many visitors to the park on Monday so the water was calm and the wildlife out in full force. Here are the resultant pictures.

Frank documents the event

Certainly the most humorous part of the event was the last concert. The seed of the concert was a miniDisc recording made of a few of the "wildlife sounds" of Okefenokee. These included snoring (name omitted to protect the innocent), crickets, and the wild screams of Lars' kids!

Okefenokee 2001 (Tuesday) Photojournal by Morgan M.

Alas it was Tuesday morning and we'd neglected our home lives as long as we could. It was time to pack up and return to the life we knew before. Thanks to Frank for sacrificing a bed so I could get some sleep!

This was a wonderful trip. It seemed so short, but next year I'll catch the Thursday and Friday festivities and maybe it will seem just the right length. I'm back in Houston now where nobody knows a Mellotron from their cowboy hat and feel a little more alone. I'm not weepy, but I know enjoyment when I see it, and this Okefenokee trip was full of that. Thanks to the artists and everyone for making it such a memorable trip.
