Registration prob with 10.3 and MA 2.0.6
I upgraded to Panther (7B85) and Marine Aquarium (v2.0.6) refuses to remember that it's registered - even after immediately accepting my Keycode.
I had the SereneScreen website email me my Keycode number to make sure it was right, and it was. Also, I downloaded the latest version, and installed it, so I knew I wasn't working with a possibly corrupted version of the screen saver. Is there a hidden preference file that may have become corrupted when I installed the new operating system? Or is there just a compatibility problem? |

Keycode
If the keycode is accepted but not remembered then one of two different things has happened:
1. The keycode can not be saved properly 2. The keycode can not be read back in properly There are two things that typically cause this problem: 1. A permissions problem on the folder holding the prefs 2. The prefs file is corrupt It is a good idea to toss all 3 (yes three) prefs files then empty the trash and re-run the application in this sort of problem. /Library/Preferences/com.prolific.ScreenSaver.Aquarium2.plist ~/Library/Preferences/com.Prolific.SereneScene.MarineAquarium2.applicati on.plist ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.prolific.ScreenSaver.Aquarium2.xxx.plist ~ means your home directory xxx means some number of digits If this doesn't solve the problem then we need to investigate the permissions on your preferences folders.

You were right...
It turns out the preference files were corrupted.
After deleting them and then re-entering the Keycode, it works perfectly. Thank you. |
